Overview

The Director of Technology Training reports to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Training to ensure the training and development needs of operational software are being met and exceeded. They will lead technology related training initiatives, propose strategies and solutions to ensure learning needs are met. This position will be instrumental in the design, development, rollout, and evaluation of the Yardi property operations software, while building constructive and effective relationships at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and design of new training/technology initiatives including but not limited to; documentation, training, coordination, rollout, and evaluation.
  • Create long term plan for systems training associates extending past the initial rollout that leverages eLearning systems already being utilized by the Training team.
  • Ensure training is available for Accounting, IT, Operations, and other Groups who will need Yardi to effectively complete their responsibilities.
  • Directly supervise two onsite Yardi trainers to optimize training and ensure associates acquire necessary skills as quickly as possible.
  • Work with subject matter experts to collect and collate information that will be designed and developed into learning modules.
  • Survey training participants to determine the effectiveness of each training method/program.
  • Update and revise current training materials to incorporate changes in policies and procedures.
  • Build multimedia-based training curricula within the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Act as a liaison between the Yardi project team, IT, and Training to ensure training materials are modular, current, and appropriate.
  • With IT team, assist in developing a change management process for the application, from a business perspective, and communicate that process to the end user community.
  • Perform periodic routine training of IT help desk personnel to increase their basic knowledge of the system in support of end users.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education A Bachelor’s Degree is required. Position requires the ability to read and write English fluently.

 

Professional Experience Five years experience in multifamily training required, ten years of general real estate/apartment management experience preferred.

 

Attendance/Travel Requirements The position requires the ability to work five days of the week, usually 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, but flexible if overtime is required. Travel is required as necessary.

 

Licenses/Equipment

A valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance are required. Position requires individuals to furnish their own vehicle to fulfill all of the job’s functions. Position requires the ability to use general office equipment including computer, printers, copy machines, fax machines, postage machine, binding machine, etc.

  • Previous training experience with Yardi preferred
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with constantly changing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to be self-starting and self-motivated
  • Ability to work with other work teams and develop solid working relationships and rapport

 

Computer skills

Excellent MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher skills

Strong Yardi knowledge
